Laz growled, a low, bubbling sound, and strained toward Nuru, snapping at him. The kick made him pull back just slightly, but he quickly surged back, unwilling to give ground. This would be a contest of muscle and willpower. "The pup calls me pup," he snarled.
In the moment Laz pulled back, Nuru made a move to properly free his hands and immediately shoved his claws in Laz's face, attempting to grab an ear with one hand and push up under his chin with the other to add force to the hold on his ear. His mouth on the other hand, sought desperately to get a bite of anything, neck, shoulder, he didn't care, he wanted blood now.
Laz couldn't prevent his head from being forced up by the grip, and Nuru's teeth sank into the curve where neck met shoulder in a vicious parody of intimacy. Laz yelped and made a low gurgling furious sound, and his hand went for Nuru's throat, clawing at his chest, his other hand digging into the ground for balance in the precarious position he'd been forced into. His whole body was drawn tense, arched and coiled like a spring as the canines struggled.
The sharp rusty scent of blood filled the air as the offending liquid trickled down Nuru's teeth and danced across his tongue. A taste he'd long hungered for, but almost forgotten. A longing nearly completely lost to time. But here it was fresh and dribbling down his lips like biting into a juicy apple. A forbidden fruit. He wanted more. He released his prey, if only so more of the dark viscous fluid could flow more freely - secondary to throwing his entire weight into bucking up and shoving the other canine off him. His waist straddled between Laz's knees suddenly twisting and churning to most violently escape the grasp of his thighs. Every muscle in his body was now erupting to send Laz off him, halting, at the very least, any move to grab for his throat.
His eyes blazed a deep firey red.
His eyes blazed a deep firey red.
Laz snarled low and squeezed his knees together, stubbornly doing his best to keep Nuru from throwing him off entirely, even as he lost his balance. He had not gotten a hold on Nuru's throat, but he dug clawed fingers into Nuru's shirt and threw his weight sideways instead of allowing Nuru to tip him onto his back. The sidewise yank let him tear his ear free of Nuru's grip, although it cost him loose fur and sharp pain.
"Bite you," Laz burbled, an unholy glee lighting up his liquidy dark eyes. He snapped again at Nuru, but the sharp unexpected jerk was enough to let Nuru pull away. Deprived of his intended prey, Laz rolled up into a crouch, hands splayed on the ground, baring all his teeth. "Bite you," he repeated. The blood dripped slowly down his shoulder. He hadn't forgotten the admonition that they weren't to damage the golems too badly, but it was disregarded in the haze of aggression.
Nuru rolled quickly to his feet and hands as the glowing red eyes fixed on Laz intently. Teeth bared in a snarl as muscle and bone crackled and shifted, muzzle and forming, covered in a thick wiry black fur that blended effortlessly with his ears and down his body. He barked loudly as he slapped his large front paws against the ground. "Try it," he warned, muzzle twisted up in a wild grin.
Laz followed suit, almost half-consciously, muscle and bone cracking and distorting as he reformed himself into a lean and tattered creature with ripped skin, bone and muscle and tendon rawly exposed in many places across his body. His muzzle gaped open and split itself down the center of his head, the effect more natural and horrifying than it had been on his humanoid face. Without any further taunting or threats, he threw himself at Nuru, snapping and snarling.
Nuru charged forth to meet Laz like a freight train, teeth snapping and legs slapping at him full force. It was slightly harder to catch Nuru's throat now as his thicker wiry hair covered everything that his bright violet collar did not. His nose kept on the scent of Laz's blood and sought to take another taste by any means necessary. It was harder to avoid Laz's muzzle in general now though -- larger and seemingly more of them.
