Final Door

[Nacht and Fest] Fest and Nacht had settled into life together, although the familiarity of their explorations and routine had left one unsaid yearning unanswered. It wasn't that Fest didn't believe in the Tree. He only believed that if there WAS such a tree, it was unlikely to be a benevolent sort....

Re: Clockwork Castle

Lewis gave him a long look, and then pulled his book from his coat. "Yes," he said finally, laying the book open carefully on the table, "One of the most powerful aspects, but not unmatched." He showed Tock a pair of folded open pages, each written in careful script, one with ink...

Re: [PRP] A fellow traveller (Tock + Lewis + Melvin)

"Yes," Lewis said, a little startled, but offering the other browbird a hand, "Welcome. I hope your sailing hasn't been too rough. Don't worry about the mice, by the way. They're friendly." Mystery stuck a snuffling nose right into Melvin's leg. "He's friendly too," Lew...

Re: Clockwork Castle

Lewis scowled, searching his memory further, but thinking on it was like worrying a tooth that wasn't there anymore. "I just feel like it might have been," he said. "Trying to remember, it's like looking through a pair of glasses that are somebody else's." He felt sick if he ling...

Re: [PRP] A fellow traveller (Tock + Lewis + Melvin)

Lewis stirred from where he was tending to the fireplace, giving the mice a polite thank you for the message. Mystery had been sleeping, rolled over on his back in the most undignified position the kitbull could manage, before making several buzzing, snuffling noises and perking up. It bunched up th...

Re: Mogi Adventures

Prompt 1 - Forest Fest folded his paws behind his back reverently. The place where a Mogi awoke wasn't marked, but it wasn't a place you forgot. The color of the tree, handsome and black, was as striking as Nacht. Most Mogis were overflowing with colors and patterns, and in this, Nacht was irregular...

Re: Clockwork Castle

"I had...have a brother," Lewis began. "It's rare for browbirds. When we have eggs, we raise them communally, from a hatchery. But our parents didn't go back. So we grew up apart from um, the main society, it's part of why I'm out here in the Further..." He shook his head, none o...

Re: Clockwork Castle

The fears all seemed to flutter out of Lewis for only a moment as he took in the meal. Any moment, surely, something would, could, might go wrong. The brightness would be snuffed out, the food dissolve into worms, his host turn into something twisted and old and horrible...but as he looked at the ot...

Re: Clockwork Castle

"I...didn't mean to bring darkness to your door," Lewis whispered, shoulders slumping under the claw. His look became keen at the smell of food, however, which overwhelmed whatever lingering guilt and horrors there were. He held his book and the kitbull tightly to him, and found his wobbly...

Re: Clockwork Castle

Tock looked a bit nonplussed at Lewis for his comments, not sure what sort of past was referring to but already mentally nudging him closer to “a bit damaged” classification the more he said. Still, he unflinchingly met the other browbird’s gaze, crazy or not. “I won’t be erased.” He said with a fla...
